A quick one. Evolution has nothing to do with where life came from. Abiogenesis is the study of how life could have arisen from non-living matter. Also, evolution does not explain how the universe came into existence. The cosmology deals with that.

What evolution does deal with is the change in genetic material of populations of organisms over generations. So, it explains how complex organisms like humans evolved from simpler life forms. It explains how populations of organisms develop new traits in order to adapt to their environment. And it explains how vestigial structures like the wings of ostriches fall out of use among other things. Overall, evolution explains speciation and the diversity of life on this planet very well.
